To kick off the season of goodwill and Christmas cheer with a bang, in December, 2015, early morning commuters on the tube in London found themselves wide awake, before their Costa coffee had kicked in, as two lifesize Victorian era-style dolls silently wandered the platforms and trains alongside them. Living a waking nightmare on the way to the office, commuters watched as the dead-eyed identical dolls pushed an empty antique pram along platforms (it's even creepier, empty, right?), played with a toy train set and all around made Londoners feel uncomfortable.
They were spotted playing, wandering and, well, commuting in high-traffic areas of London, including Charing Cross Tube Station, Oxford Street and Regent Street.

What the heck was going on?
The creepy as hell Victorian dolls were actually a publicity stunt by English illusionist, mentalist and all-around trickster, Derren Brown, publicising his 13-minute theme park ride at Thorpe Park, Surrey. The ride is a psychological mix of magic, suggestion, psychology and misdirection and opens in March, 2016.
Yikes.
