With the last movie released five years ago and final book almost ten years ago, one would think the world of Harry Potter, wizards, death eaters and muggles was just a pleasant memory, a part of pop culture history from the noughties.

But no.

Harry Potter has never really been far from anyone's minds, and with theme parks, West End plays, new stories and movies, a potential TV series and IRL Quidditch teams, it seems like the Harry Potter engine is well and truly revved up again and taking off.

Let's see what we got:

Walking Dead Season 7 Premiere: It's Pretty Clear Who'll Die and You Won't be Happy

Walking Dead comic readers had been anticipating this moment for the entirety of season 6: Meeting the biggest bad there is, Negan, and witnessing the brutal kill of a character with his barbed-wire entwined baseball bat, Lucille.
And finally, in episode 16, the season finale, we did. We met Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), we met Lucille, and we saw that someone had their head beaten in.

But who, is the question and anticipation for season 7 is killer, am I right? Speculation has been rife, with two very strong candidates for the kill and fans are well and truly divided.

So who's it gonna be?

Is it going to be Abraham (Michael Cudlitz)?

In the comics his storyline has officially run its course as just prior to the crew meeting Negan he had been shot through the eye with an arrow, but in the TV show Dr. Denise (Merrit Wever) succumbed to that shock ending.

Or is it Going to be Fan Favourite, Glenn (Steven Yeun) ?

In the comics Glenn is the unlucky recipient of Negan's brutal beating. This is officially where his story ends, but that hasn't stopped the show from mixing things up before.

So who's it going to be? Well shooting of season 7 has well and truly begun and there is very clear evidence as to who isn't going to make it off their knees alive.

Stop reading now if you don't want to be spoiled. You have been warned.

Oz Comic Con Day 1

Normally when my alarm goes off at 2am, I groan and snooze it in a futile attempt to gain just a little more sleep before starting work an hour later. Last Saturday though, I sprang into action immediately. This was the weekend of the event I'd been excitedly counting down the days to: Oz Comic Con. Waking up at 2am for a convention that doesn't start till 9am sounds really excessive, but over the weeks I had been practicing my makeup, timing how long it took to get it all done, and making mental lists of other things I'd need to do in order to get this cosplay spot on. From this, I knew roughly how long each thing would take, from securing the wig to perfecting my makeup, and had even factored in screwing something up then fixing it.

I've been cosplaying at conventions since 2012 but this was the first time I'd gone as a character belonging to a celebrity guest who would be in attendance and actually see it (and I was going to be two!). I'm incredibly nitpicky about getting all the little details right on a costume, so the pressure to get it right increased thousandfold at the realisation that I'd be coming face to face with the actors who played both my characters.

CW picks up pilot of archie comics-based drama "riverdale": Here's what we know

Not gonna lie, as a tween and early teen whose father scored free mags and comics from his work, Archie and the gang will always have a place in my heart and comic collection. So it's with much excitement that I'm pleased to find the pilot episode ordered by CW of Riverdale, was good enough that the show was picked up for a full series! And it's about time, too. Even spin-off characters Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Josie and the Pussycats have had a live-action TV show or film AND cartoons. Sure, Archie and his pals in Riverdale have had several cartoons, a hit single in the 60s and a high school reunion movie in the 90s, but before now they haven't been portrayed in the flesh as the teens readers through the decades know and love.

So let's take a look at what we know about Riverdale.

I have been watching Eurovision Song Contest religiously since 2008 when my university housemates and I channel-surfed our way into it and WTF'd our heads off. It was a madcap journey, as if time had stopped and every other country's entrant thought they were at an all-ages primary school talent competition in the 70s.

The Secret Weapon Every Horror Movie Uses to Scare You Silly

When a horror movie character is being stalked through the woods, not sure where danger lurks, peering around tree trunks, sure to find themselves face-to-freaking-face with a ghost/demon/axe murderer/monster, why do we find that moment so scary, exactly? Why, as we watch, from the safety of our living rooms, have we stopped breathing, and our chests feel tight, and we're frankly freaking the fuck out before the scare even happens?

It's the music. It's the horrible, eerie music that builds and builds our trepidation and anticipation for that big, scary reveal which isn't actually as scary as the dread we felt leading up to it was.

Well there is a specific instrument that is responsible for all that dread you feel, responsible for making that dark house, those empty streets, those creepy-ass woods 100% terrifying.
