With the last movie released five years ago and final book almost ten years ago, one would think the world of Harry Potter, wizards, death eaters and muggles was just a pleasant memory, a part of pop culture history from the noughties. 

But no.

Harry Potter has never really been far from anyone's minds, and with theme parks, West End plays, new stories and movies, a potential TV series and IRL Quidditch teams, it seems like the Harry Potter engine is well and truly revved up again and taking off.

Let's see what we got:

In a shock move from the set of long-running FBI vs. serial killer show, Criminal Minds, one of the original cast members, Thomas Gibson who portrayed FBI Special Agent Aaron "Never Smile" Hotchner, has been unceremoniously fired, consequences for the plot line be damned.

The first trailer - more of a scene, really - for Netflix's revival, The Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, has hit the interwebs and just as we can expect from show creator and writer Amy Sherman-Palladino, it's rather delightful.

Following the announcement of a legit, 100% bonafide Australian contender in Eurovision Song Contest 2016, there has been an even bigger, even more exciting announcement, regarding a new, er, vision altogether!

Introducing, Asiavision! Well, I mean, that's not its name (yet) but SBS, the Australian television station that has been broadcasting Eurovision for over 30 years, has teamed with Blink TV and are in serious talks about development of an Asian version of the famous song contest.

With the new season of Game of Thrones airing as of April 24th 2016, it's just over a month away! Is Jon Snow really dead? Will the White Walkers annihilate everybody? How will the Khaleesi and her dragons get out of this one? Who will live? But more importantly, which others of your favourite characters will die, and just how incredibly brutal will it be?

The show creators provided Entertainment Weekly with on-set photography to whet our appetites and frankly drive fans crazy with speculation.
